The May 27, 2002, edition
of Nation's Restaurant News contains an article on page two titled CSPI
blasts pizza's fat levels, urges diet curbs. It
says: The CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest)
measured
the calories, fat, saturated fat, trans fat and sodium in servings of pizza from
36 pizzerias in Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles. The study also included data
provided by the Pizza Hut, Domino's, Little Caesars and Papa John's chains
.
The report gave favorable ratings to Papa John's Original Crust Garden Special
and Pizza Hut's Veggie Lover's items but condemned that chain's cheese-stuffed
crusts and Insider double-crust item with an extra layer of cheese. CSPI officials
also said eating the usual quarter-pizza portion was like consuming a second Big
Mac or performing reverse liposuction on oneself. For
